Elisabeth Elliot: A Life

Elisabeth Elliot (1926-2015) is one of the most widely known Christians of the 20th and 21st centuries. In 1956, her missionary husband was speared to death by Indigenous Ecuadorians, thrusting Elliot into public view. In 1958, her article in LIFE magazine about her life with the tribe that had killed her husband was read by 87 million Americans, an incredible 76 percent of adults in the US.

In the decades since, her books (more than 25 of them, available in 13 languages) articles, CDs and DVDs, daily devotionals, radio broadcasts, and newsletters have reached countless people around the world. But despite her celebrity, many Christians know very little about this strong and complicated woman whose life was deeply and fundamentally informed by love for Jesus and obedience to his commands. My full-length, single-volume biography of Elliot, Elisabeth Elliot: A Life, is available for purchase now.
